Empire of the summer moon mentioned above. A MUST READ for any Texan.

Wow, I haven't thought about the Blood Meridian in years! One of my all time favorite quotes is from that book. "War? Why ask man what man thinks of war. One might as well ask what man thinks of stone. War always was. Before man was, war was waiting for him. The ultimate game awaiting the ultimate practitioner. Thus sayeth the Judge."

Just finished a book called Left of Bang. It's a book about the marines combat hunter program. Really good book about situational awareness and not becoming a victim.

We need to start a list of the "Essential TBH Library" or something similar. It would be the TBH staples that get mentioned in every book thread. Like:
                              The Bible
                              Empire of the Summer Moon
                              Lone Survivor
                              Lonesome Dove
                              Everything Louis L'amour
                              Game of Thrones
                              Frackers
                              The Big Rich

That's just off the top of my head what am I missing that qualifies? I know there are a bunch more.

If you like non-fiction that relates to the outdoors, check out The Tracker. Its a story about Tom Brown. He has several books relating to tracking and such and are really interesting reads. Was trained by an old indian man in tracking and his stories are quite good.
