Best spotting scope for $500

Looking for a Father’s Day gift. Needs to be angled. Preferably 80-ish mm. Can be heavy—it’s just going on pops’ deck so he can watch boats on the lake. Was headed toward an Alpen but just learned they shut their doors.

I bought this one a few months ago for my elk hunt this year but it seems a little bulky and heavy for a back pack hunt so I was thinking about not using it if interested. Only took it out and used it in my backyard once.
