    Anybody have an age on this guy, we don't know much about aging or scoring them as this is the first we've ever seen. Click image for larger version

      It takes them about 10 years to get to 30 inches...of that helps.

        Hard to count all of the growth rings from a picture but he appears to be at least 9.

          Any help is appreciated, we rough measured the length at 30 and 3/4 inches. We're waiting for the taxidermist to get the score and age for us.

            His horns were rubbing his shoulders if it helps any. Had hair rubbed down and skin to leather in those spots

                He looks mature, and wasn't going to get much longer if he was rubbing shoulders already. You can age them with rings around horns, but that can get difficult with older age.

                Just like deer, genetics and food will dictate horn growth.

                    Tight curl. Usually takes at least 36" to rub the sides if the horns are spread out.
