Darn Woodpeckers! Trail Camera Blues

Does anyone know OR have you heard why they do this?? I don't get it... So many things that could be pecking on

Don’t have a clue, but this is about the 3rd camera it has happened to for me. The other two were at a lease and did not get checked until they were already ruined by water getting in them. This one is in the place where I live, and I found it before it got ruined.
