Somebody help me out here. What is this stuff and what are its advantages.

My only issue with Chaffhaye is that while it does come in a 50lb bag, the content of the bag is only 25% hay with water making up the remaining 50% (at least in the one bag I read at Mumme's in Pearsall). That raises the cost of the bagged hay to over $25 per equivalent 50 lb bale. I fully recognize some of the benefits of this style of hay, but ouch. That is quite a bit over and above the standard alfalfa hay bale.
