great pic, Stolle! I put a camera on our too. We went ahead and buried it about 10" in the ground so fawns can reach it.

For those of you with water troughs, do pigs create a problem?

We very seldom see pigs and I think having the ag troughs help.

Most of the tanks on our lease have dried up.
So I'm thinking of making a water trough, but will have to transport water to it.
Any idea how long 40 gallons of water will last?

Less than two days at my place. It wouldn’t be worth it if that’s all you could provide.

I'm going through 475 gallons every 2 weeks right now. I have small waterers on totes to help with evaporation too. This is in San saba.

I have four of these on 460 acres and at peak consumption, they will finish them all in 10 days.

At our place they would empty it in a day. In these conditions in one day they probably drink 100 gallons per trough. I have 3 that run off a 5000 gallon tank.

I was running a sprinkler timer to pump 30 min of water in the tank a day. Sunday I upgraded to WiFi.

Tank was about half full so I’m pumping 1 hour of water in it a day.

Our critters are drinking about 50 -60 gallons a week per trough......

I've seen a flock of turkeys on top of a giant cement water tank that the windmill fills up.
