    Ruger American

was looking at Whittaker Guns this morning and noticed they had a Ruger American 22-250 with 1:8 twist. what's yalls thoughts on this one? Bet you could shoot some pretty heavy ammo.

Also saw a Ruger American Predator in a 6mm Creedmore. didn't know there was such a critter.

I messed up a long time ago when the American Ruger first came out. I won one in a raffle. I was told I could have any caliber I wanted. So I took a youth model 243 for my daughter to have. I wish I’d known they had it in 6.5 Creedmoor back then. I still love that 243 though. Super accurate gun. Love it. Still would like to have gotten that 6.5 though

Should be able to shoot heavier bullets in it. I'm a Ruger fan so of course I'm going to say it'd be a good rifle. I about bought a Ruger American Compact in 22-250 last year but I ended up winning a Savage Axis II at a coyote hunt so I never thought anymore about it after that.

                I thought all RA 22-250s were 1:10

To the average shooter I don't think there's enough to make much of a difference. I'd go with the .243 just because it's more readily available and cheaper I'm sure.

What’s average expected group size w these rifles? Maybe 6 creed for kids would be a good deal. Especially w the magpul stock....

Have several and for the price they are extremely hard to beat.

.270,30.06,.243,308 never really measured but under an inch for sure. Typically shoot Hornady's and federal but they like just about everything.
