          Mexican markets

Had a guy that worked for me a few years back. He used to work at a Michocana. He said to find out what day they are getting their meat deliveries and buy within 3 days of that and freeze if you have to as they will let that stuff sit till sold so often spoiled.

Bridgeport has one but it's owned by a white guy. Not cheap but the best meat in town.

I have a carniceria across the street. I call him mainly to cut meat into jerky slice.

Try the cross cut ribs and the seasoned chicken wings. Both the best you will ever have. The one by work has a restaurant we eat lunch there often.

First one I ever walked into was Lopez Grocery in Brownsville off Boca Chica Blvd. We were down for an annual dove hunt. Man the meat counter went from wall to wall across the back of the store. Best, freshest looking meat I have ever seen. Nothing was in a package, all old school on display board nicely placed in a glass case. Even the chicken wings were nicely stacked and not "on a foam board and swran (sp) wrapped" like in the modern store.

In my opinion I would say that the way meat turns gray and ages in a package, the stuff in the counter had to be super fresh!
