Riding a mechanical bull tips.

Just got told that they will have a mechanical bull at my wife's Christmas party and if you can ride it for 8 seconds they will give you 1k.
Any tricks to staying on ?
I been on a few live bulls but that was a very long time ago.
I know it's hard to stay on a mechanical because the sides and top are slick.
This should be a great thread if nothing else.

Yup. Look at thread for best fitting jeans. Get ya some. Clamp on tight in those tight jeans. Ride.

I've been on a couple live ones a LONG time ago. Last mechanical one I was on, I was in college and was well on my way to being over-served. I just remember I didn't stay on very long and my inner thighs and my forearm were so sore the next day I could hardly walk. For a grand I could hold on pretty tight, good luck!

Its all about hanging on with your legs. Keep your heals and knees tight to the bull. Try to stay in the middle and keep your balance over your hand.

It all depends on whether or not the operator wants you to stay on. If he is set on dumping you there is no hope!

Make sure to spur a lot. The operator will take that as a challenge. Then it's ON!

This ^^. Your not staying on, unless he lets you. Only tip that matters, is the one you give the operator, out of the 1k

Work the hip thrust, seriously.
Your head and shoulders pretty much stay over the center of the pivot point.
Hips move with the bull, or stay ahead of it rather.
