Waters are warm and apparently there is flesh eating bacteria growing. Jr high teacher from Ingleside, had surgery yesterday, is in pretty bad shape. Prayers needed. For those that are going to be in the water, take every precaution, even on the beaches. If you have open sores, even a sketter bite, I would stay out of the waters down here.

This is a close friend of ours that we where fishing with last weekend. He is a perfectly healthy man and lives on the water. I assure you he did not have any noticeable open wounds, scratches or abrasions. He is currently be transported to UTMB Galveston for a specialist, currently still sedated and kidneys aren't functioning. Please continue your thoughts and prayers as all this happened very rapidly. At 4am last Saturday he showed the first symptoms and by 11am was in surgery.

It's BAD stuff. A friend of mine had a bad case last year. He had a lowered immune system due to a previous staph infection. Got Vib in waters that he wades every weekend. **** near lost his life, not to mention his leg. I was wading two weeks ago and walked into a snapped-off fiberglass PowerPole. Jabbed me in the shin and cut my shin. Wasn't anything I could do about it but fish some more.....Sure made me think though.
Prayers up.

Sorry about your friend, we are praying for him. I heard it came from Port Bay, can you confirm this or tell me what body of water it came from? thxOriginally posted by DoubleGG View PostThis is a close friend of ours that we where fishing with last weekend.
