For what I use it for, mine would be a Winchester model 12

Benelli SBE. Bought mine new 1998 and still runs like the day I bought it.

The 390 is still considered one of the most reliable autos developed...however, it is so well balanced that an extension for extra rounds doesn't work well. For me, I like the very early H&K imports for the Benelli M1 if I had to choose an auto. Minty ones can be found for under $1500. Covers all hunting & defensive applications.

I also would be happy with either a pre-64 model 12 or early Wingmaster if you wanted to go pump.

I prefer over & unders for dove, whitewing & clays but not for these only pick one games.

Beretta A400 Xtreme 12 gauge for waterfowl. Absolute workhorse in any conditions. Always goes Bang when you pull the trigger. That't my practical choice.

Favorite Shotgun for Dove and Upland is Beretta A400 Xplor 20 gauge. It's probably my all around favorite shotgun. Same reliability as all A400's but only weighs around 5-6 lbs.

I am getting rid of all of my other shotguns because of my new to me 391. Best shotgun I've ever owned.

                            Beretta A390.

I have had one for many years now and it is always my "go to" gun. If I couldn't find a nice 390 I would look at an A400. I have an A400 in 20ga and its a great gun but it still doesn't rise to being my "go to". The 390 is extremely well balanced and swings beautifully.

I like a 20 ga. over under, but if I had to settle for one shotgun I would go with the Benelli M2 12 ga. I bought in 2004. For doves and quail, the 20 is great, and every turkey I have killed could have been done with a 20, but waterfowl and deer need more shot.
