How did the Chavis hire turn out for yall? A&M made him a rich man. Lot of good DCs out there, Aranda is good, but I don't think he is the best. LSU talent elevated his coaching.

Of course you don't, if he leaves LSU.....He had the #15 defense in 2012 at Utah Freaking State.

Aranda defenses:

2012 Utah State - #15 Total Defense
2013 - Wisc - #9 Total Defense
2014 - Wisc - #9 Total Defense
2015 - Wisc - #2 Total Defense
2016 - LSU - #5 Total Defense
2017 - LSU - #12 Total Defense

Yeah, that's not ELITE or anything

Just because Chavis was over the hill and past his prime and didn't work out has NOTHING to do with 42 year old Dave Aranda. Just because chavis failed means nothing in regards to Aranda.

Wisconsin finished No.2 in total defense the last two years, it's like that system runs itself up there. Doesn't seem to matter who coaches there as of late.

They're all being money whipped, it just depends what someone thinks they are respectively worth. Those with the $$ would be crazy not to offer, and those worth it would be crazy not to take it.

It will be interesting to see how this Yankees style approach works out. I'd say they are all in...

I must admit that I feel sorry for my buddies from LSU, it does seem that the Aggies are picking on them. The way to get back at them is to keep beating them every fall.
It is quite obvious that A&M is tired of performing at a click above .500 and as a result, is going to help many of the top coaches get a raise over the next couple of years. I think it is crazy to pay a coaching staff this much money. If a wealthy Aggie wants to spend his money to buy wins, more power to him.
I think I will get my Nephew who was Head Coach at Cibolo Steele back on the field as a coach rather than Athletic Director.
