South Texas Hunters Thread 2019

It was very good this afternoon and my best hunt this trip by far but my best hunts were earlier in the year. I’ll start my 9 hr trip back tomorrow morning and forgo the morning hunt to get home at a decent hr. Hunting a small piece of property I typically only take one deer or Nilgai per year. The rest of the 18 hr round trips are to hang out, get away from work and shoot coyotes.

I’ll be there Friday thru Monday then 26-5th. Weather appears to have moderated to cooler for this weekend. Finally not over 90 degrees on a Saturday

Good movement this afternoon. Had a 3 year old 10 pointer harassing some doe, a 5 year old 9 pointer not paying attention to anything but eating corn on the Sendero. It should kick off by next week.

My fiancé took out a good cull this evening. Buck was FAT.
Very little rut activity here in Duval county.





She even did the cleaning

Rut is on in McMullen County! Had a fun hunt yesterday afternoon. Back at it this AM. Trying to help a buddy find a shooter. We have him in a blind where we have a nice buck on camera recently but these deer a running all over the place so he may be hard to pattern

Raining good in Webb county. It was a slippery drive to the blind. Took a bit to get in, but I guess that was enough time for the guests that were sleeping in the blind to leave. Would be nice if they would take their trash with them.
