On our HF place we run one for every 80 acres to make it easier on does and young bucks.
On our big place we run one every 250-300 ish.
Had a terrible time getting the deer to eat from them around water on the big place. I think predators make them nervous?
On the HF place you can't get away from water with all the stations piped in on that place.
We use smaller feeders so we have fresh feed all the time. On the feeders that get hit lighter we don't fill them. I never have protein in the feeders more than 2-3 weeks. Never in our storage bins more than 30 days.
The HF place which is 900 acre we feed about 5 tons per month. On the big place, I don't want to know!
