Update
Well it's been a few weeks and wanted to update you.
The fence contractor has finished up and we are locked up. They did a great job and would certainly use them again. The entrance cost around 1k but we used some of the 5" pipe from one of the billboard we took down. The 6th strand ran about 2.25 ft and all the forestry work was 1400.00 ($160 hr)
I have put 45 hours on the new Branson tractor and my body feels it...
Glad I went 34 hp as it needs it all when I till. Other than that it's done everything I asked of it.
First I fixed all the roads and mowed edges. Learned about shear pins quickly lol. I also learned they are rated specific. Brush hog will need some repairs soon.
Then I ran the disk followed up with tiller. Ran a few all nights last week. I made a 1.5 acre plot that follows the tree line across top of property. This plot is iron clay peas, turnip, chicory, and clover mix.
Next I made a 1/8 acre plot in a natural opening on the S side. This plot is turnip and clover it was a Bag from Gander Mountain.
The tiller is the cats meow! Now we just need rain!
I have 2 free choice w/ DD and 1 corn feeder running.
So I have feed them now it's time ad water station and I'm getting out of woods for a while.
Most bucks have dropped horns and I know most of my residency deer now and it's exciting when a new one shows up. I am pleased with the numbers so far. Cameras show all the work I'm doing isn't really changing their patterns.
Hogs are hit and miss but Turkeys showed up! They are on most cameras last week and I saw them Saturday. Then Sunday morning they woke me up with gobbling.
I would have more pics but my phone went through the tiller:/
