Sorry to say I haven't been out there yet this year. Fish are growing well from what I hear. Will get an update next time I talk with him. Thanks for asking

Snuck out there to fish this past weekend and was a great time. Fish are still pretty easy to catch and putting on good weight.

There are definitely 3 different age class of fish. This years are small, last years are most of the fish in the pics, and finally the first year fish that are getting healthy. This was the first time the fish acted like they were supposed to in terms of concentrating on the humps/windrows/and structure.

We threw everything back in except one. Belly had a combination of crawfish and shad.

            Couple update pics.

The discharge from under the dock. The well makes a bunch of water.

She got tired of the rod and reel and tried just free lining it. Nothing bit

Back in the boat she showed us how it was done. Dale Mo, she caught all of these casting at your "fish boxes". Its like cheating when you know what is on the bottom.

Green sunfish. Pretty darn fun to catch, but not really desirable at all from a pond Mgmt point of view. With their aggressiveness and mouth size, they are more predator than bait. They are not near as prolific as bluegill are in terms of being a "baitfish." I pretty much never put any green sunfish back in the pond that I catch.

We have two ponds stocked specifically with green sunfish for the sole purpose of bait. We've found they stay alive longer on the hook than any other bait Fish we've tried.

Gotcha. That makes sense. When you said, "bait fish" I was thinking actual bait fish. Greenies are dang hardy.

How is this pond doing? Mainly curious about the crawfish.

Me too. I sure have enjoyed following along on this project. Makes our 3 acre pond look like the slums

Sorry about the missed responses. Lake is doing well. Big fish starting to come out of it and looking forward to what next spring brings.

Did I mention the manufacturer of those blocks requires that I make an inspection every spring....with my son?
