    When we were kids, we canoed the Nueces from somewhere around Orange Grove down to Calallen. That was a trip, we were going against the wind all the way down river, felt like we were paddling up river. It was a fun trip, saw lots of critters and gar.
    The river is not damed at Choke Canyon, only the Frio.

      I think there's a dam just below 624.

        I live south of Uvalde and the Neuces River is about 3 miles from my house. It is dry as a bone around La Pryor through Crystal City.
