Tennis shoes and knees. These newer ones roll as well as go up and down. I like the ElTorro ones like they had in urban cowboy. Never understood why they don't use a **** bull rope but instead a bareback rigging or with some of these new ones a slick short rope with knot on the end. If it a bareback rigging wedge your hand in and spur that sucker in the mane line

Hehe. I rode rough stock in college and it was easier to stay on a live one than a mechanical. There's two dial on the operators control, once for spin, one for buck. They go from 0-10. If he decides you're getting thrown he'll just up the numbers and dump you. Lot of fun though and like others have said if you spur that thing he'll see it as a challenge.
