mobil 1 synthetic motor oil. Does not dry up and leave the gun unprotected and never gums up.

Break Free CLP or Corrosion X (bottle, not can).

I pretty much spray paint mine with Rem Oil and then wipe them down for storage. I have heard of CLP, WD-40 and even ATF. Just wondering what the Green Screen brain trust recommends?
When I have surface rust I use very fine steel wool with gun oil to remove the rust.Triple 0 wool will not remove the bluing unless you scrub it too much. This usually works very well and then oil the gun as it should have been

I oil my working parts with various oils I’ve bought, and it will be a long, long time before I have to buy again. But it sounds like what you’re asking is what we apply to protect the surfaces for storage. I wipe mine down with a silicon rag (I keep a separate one in my shotgun bag to wipe down my shotgun after a dove hunt), and I store my guns in a safe with silica gel packets and a sock filled with rice to keep the moisture down.

Kroil on internal components, RemOil on the external surfaces

RemOil inside and out until they're dripping. Then I let them drain good before putting them up.

This one right here for my 1911’s. I use the fishing reel oil from Lucas in my revolvers. I do keep a bottle of Hoppe’s in my range bag.

I just use rem oil mostly, Hoppes at times. I have guns 50 plus years old that all they seen was wd40. That’s all we had when I was growing up in my part of the World.
