I have had similar experiences hunting small tracts, seeing bucks in bunches and then when the pre-rut begins, they aren't in bunches any longer, and often are unseen as well.

My biggest bow buck came off a 5 acre property. Sad thing is there was a bigger one with him. Mine scored upper 130’s

I think your over... in velvet and angles arnt awesome for scoring... i think 138-143
