Pinché vacas!!! I hate cows!
Well since this hunt is on a pause I’ll tell you a little about this place. It’s pretty open country up here. There’s little oak mots and shelter belts scattered here and there but not a lot of stuff to hide in. There’s a pretty good sized draw that runs from the SW corner to the NE corner.
The stand I’m in is an elevated pop up on the edge of the draw and a shelter belt. Pretty basic set up. Feeder at 20 and my wind blowing out to the open. I bumped two really good deer walking in. 1 was a 140ish 3 year old 9pt that I recognized. The other was a more mature deer. He never really spooked and I watched him for a pretty good min but never got a great look at his horns.
Before good light I had deer come from all directions to the pen. I’m not sure what’s up with the feeder but corn is piled up under it and it never spun. I suspect coons have broken something. Cows are starting to move off, there’s a pile of do es and blue jays in the corn and it’s still 28° with a light SW breeze.
Let one of these does come back and y’all are gonna see a bloody err!
