Been fishing the Rio Negro twice. More than an adventure for sure.
Caught 10-20 a day, peacock and butterfly peacock.
Piranha, red tail catfish, some prehistoric looking catfish and caymen.
My BIL caught a freshwater stingray that was over 6 ft wide.

Norm Hitzges was on the boat first trip, he is a character.
Second trip I scheduled it during carnival in Manaus. now that was interesting.

Would love to make that trip one more time.
    Will look for some pictures

If you go to Miami, don't just chase peacocks. You could do that in a day, then spend some time in Flamingo chasing Snook, tarpon, redfish etc. or Biscayne going after bonefish, tarpon and permit.

[QUOTE=offshore2005;13454256]Still in Miami now and had an amazing day hammering the peacocks. I have to say you need to do this at least once. I did a full day trip and put well over 30 in the boat from 1-7.75 pounds. They don’t get much bigger here in Miami from what I was told. But let me tell you the 7.75 pounder was my dream for the US. my guide also does amazon trips I will be looking into next year.

Man...that's some incredible taxidermy work. I bet that wasn't cheap.

I been to the Rio Negro Lodge in the Amazon, that was just before it went down, it was a good trip, I would not go back but I am happy I went, its a once in a life type trip for me.

                        Not cheap is correct..
The guys from ForkTaxadermy did the work.

They spent 3-4 weeks on the Rio Negro catching and molding fish.

                        Clayton brothers do great work..
