What made this hole??

I've seen 1 badger in 12 years on our lease south of Vernon. I was in Webb county this past week and saw 3 in 1 day. There holes were a lot bigger and deeper than that one.

We have several holes just like that on our place south of Kirkland. Yesterday I watched an armadillo go into one of them. I always thought badger until then.

Looks to me like an original badger den dug out by a coyote. Almost impossible to say what dug it originally. Could be a lot of things living in it now though. Most critters are pretty opportunistic when it it comes to living quarters. Could be badger, rabbit, coyote, possum, bobcat, taratulas, snakes, Jimmy Hoffa, or Hussain (oh wait, he's dead). Looks for tracks or put a camera on it.
