As of this morning, his status is just about the same, but he is more stable now than he was all night. He is losing a unit of blood every hour, and is still on the machine. Its a double edge sword. The machine needs thin blood and doesnt allow his heart to pump freely and build strength. But if they take him off the machine, he will bleed out within 30 minutes. We have 1 to 2 more days of waiting to see if his heart will pickup on its own.
Dr.s just started an esophageal EKG to view the backside of the heart from the inside to see if it is working properly.
If so, he will come off the machine and get blood thickeners to stop the bleeding.
Hope and pray his stubbornness takes effect and that heart starts functioning properly.
