Elk hunted Colorado during the 3rd gun season near Craig. I hope your in good shape and have good sleeping arrangements with a good heater!!!! Drink all the water you can stand and caffeine helps. Altitude sickness is a real deal. Migraine headache and fast pulse. Hiking those mountains is no joke. Expect a lot of snow!!! Good luck

Hmmm that’s strange. When we purchased our elk tags at the office they offered for us to buy mule deer tags for like 300$ I believe. Maybe I was mistaken.

There could have been licenses turned back in your area- they offer those for sale online and at the CPW offices.
