Yes, the 1st generation is push/pull and is a little awkward but most of the time when shooting the wildlife it is at 400mm anyway for me. I have not messed with the MKII but Bill M said it is not....

I cannot speak for the tamron but I will tell you I have the 100-400 and use it quite a bit and love it. Several of my pictures on this sight are shot with this lens. You would be very happy with it....

I have both. I quit using my iMac a long time ago. I prefer the mobile macbook pro at home. I would go with 15 if you are going to be using to edit. Thats my opinion. Good Luck

It looks like you can start at a lower level (Basic or Power) smugmug and then if you decide at a later date to start selling them then you can bump it up to the portfolio or higher....
