I agree on the lack of public hunting in this...

I agree on the lack of public hunting in this state. Refuge hunting is one of the few places. I know in Wisconsin if they did helicopter hunts there would be an uproar.

A study was just done in Wisconsin on fawn survival during the first 5 months. Roughly 1/3 of them died and the #1 reason was coyotes.

Being new to an area I would buy a deer tag for CO and look for elk on the side. Half the price and gives you time to scout things out for next time. Early Oct. is early for the midwestern states....
