I started with 70lbs on my HCA Excalibur back in ‘94. I quickly realized that I only needed 60lbs to kill anything that walked in Texas, so I made the switch to 60lbs and never looked back.

Best feeder I’ve ever owned is the one I built from the ground up. Reliable and holds a good amount of corn that I generally fill it every 3 to 4 months. Best of all I built it for less than a bill.

I'm using 6V for 2 yrs now and they work just fine. I can tell you that when it comes to replacing a motor, the cost of a 6V motor is pennies compared to a 12v motor. YMMV
