Be careful if you use a sander to not overheat the edge. I actually rigged a file to use with my Lansky sharpener when I have a blade that needs the angle fixed.

I've only used mine for turkey and it's awesome. Look online for the weight, but I would guess 15 lbs. I use extra bungee cords for the tie down ropes and West Texas wind hasn't ruined my fun.
