I had some of those and they barely lasted a year. They use die cast metal that just doesn’t hold up. As mentioned above, my issue I believe is dissolved sediment.

I use a recovered piece of Keystone XL pipeline that was ran thru our property a couple years ago. Needless to say, I doubt I will ever have an issue with it rusting out and it holds heat well.

We will have some that are just a much larger body frame that the rest, so I would be careful using that as a measurement.

I will never put one on a vehicle again for this very reason. I had a similar accident, but not as bad (much lower speed). The rach hand made the damage worse.
