If he isn't here by then, I'll be on standby at the hospital waiting for our little one to arrive that weekend....
Yall have fun!

RJH1 03-16-2017 01:26 PM

I am going to try to make it on Sunday

DRT 03-16-2017 02:16 PM

I've always wondered why clubs have their championships so early in the year. Or maybe the shooting season starts in the fall and I'm not aware but even when I shot pistol and rifle competitions it seemed April through June was the end of the season for club shoots, state matches and even nationals some years. September through January I'm so wrapped up in hunting I don't know what goes on. July and August are pretty hot here so I can understand them being out. But if you had to make at least two of the shoots to shoot the championship then you had better know when they are and not miss one if you only have til April to make it happen.

Outdoor Man 03-16-2017 04:51 PM

I don't think this is for the club championship. I think it's the Texas State Championship. Cowtown has hosted it for many years.

RJH1 03-16-2017 06:55 PM

Is a bear magnesium takedown riser legal in the Open and wood classes? you shoot off the shelf, but it does have a factory adjustable sideplate. It is only 40 or so years old, so I am not sure if it is trad enough:-)

Geezy Rider 03-16-2017 09:35 PM

I hope to be ready for this one, maybe my bow won't break the day before.

SwampGhost 03-17-2017 09:52 AM

Got it on my go to list!

R.Armendariz 03-17-2017 04:10 PM

I may go not sure yet , it is a bit of drive me.

RJH1 03-17-2017 06:15 PM

So, anyone know if my bear will be legal, I would like to shoot it but can bring something else if I need to

Try sending some pics to one of the club officers see if it is approved.

RJH1 03-17-2017 09:11 PM

OK, I will do that, thanks

Outdoor Man 03-17-2017 10:12 PM

If it's recurve it should fit into one of the classes.

I am mainly want to use it in the wood class, I don't care to shoot it in the Olympic class

Featherflinger 03-18-2017 12:15 AM

I would think as long as you are shooting off the shelf with no stabilizer it would be ok.

hubbace 03-20-2017 01:02 AM

I will get with jerp tomorrow since we ate having a club meeting and get you an answer on the bow.

Concerning the earlier question about championships, yes, this shot is our annual Texas Recurve Championship Shoot that we have hosted for decades. It is our second traditional shoot we host every year. :)

Also on another note for anyone interested we do offer over night camping on that weekend for this event. We have limited # of spots so if you are interested in bringing a camper/RV or Tent please feel free to contact me at 817-709-3236 to make arrangements. There is no electricity but Generators are allowed. We have a pavilion area that has a BBQ grill and a fire pit set up to hang out and visit. Come on out and plan to have some fun.

KHUB 03-20-2017 04:16 PM

evening bump

76aggie 03-22-2017 10:44 AM

I plan on being there. You guys put on a nice shoot.

Danielb89 03-23-2017 12:57 PM

I hope I can make this.

Is it $15 per fun round? Or you can shoot all the fun rounds you want for $15?

If I come, it'll only be to whoop bisch...

Each, goofball!

Bisch

Danielb89 03-24-2017 09:45 AM

not sure how that would make me a goofball. I have never been to a tourney where you paid each time to shoot for fun. I've been to a ton that you pay to compete, but now pay for fun(each time).

jerp 04-05-2017 02:31 PM

bump

R.Armendariz 04-06-2017 10:39 AM

I will not make it just saw the date is same as the trad hog hunt .

SwampGhost 04-14-2017 05:43 PM

Bump....
I'll be there to shoot Saturday

jerp 04-17-2017 08:57 AM

To the top

76aggie 04-17-2017 10:30 AM

I will be headed west on 820. I will exit to the right on Old Jacksboro Hwy. Headed north on Old Jacksboro, I cross over a portion of the lake and take a left on Confederate.

What is the name of the street I take another left on when coming down Confederate? It goes down through a residential neighborhood and T's into the lake where I make another right and get to the range.

I cannot remember the name of the road. I think it has "ridge" in it but not sure.

Somebody please let me know. Thanks.

Just got back from Cowtown -- 40 targets set! I think you will really enjoy the course and it looks like the weather is going to cooperate - the high may not break 70 tomorrow
