Takes 3 to 5 years to get a NR in Iowa now. I lived in MN in the 90's and we use to get a NR every year in Iowa, we did hunt private and public and believe it or not the public is still pretty good.

Arrowsmith 11-07-2016 05:47 PM

The typical archery WR is 204 4/8". This record has stood for 51 years.

I think you forgot to carry the 2

hardtner 11-07-2016 05:59 PM

Hansen buck is in trouble. I can get to 212" using VERY conservative numbers. And he is symmetrical. I think he will be WR if all checks out. My gut says 220ish gross.

Closer to B&C World Record than P&Y World Record, in my opinion.

Chad C 11-07-2016 06:25 PM

Wow and I don't see any common bases, that deer is going to score big.

Codie 11-07-2016 06:33 PM

I think Milo might be dethroned with that one if it all checks out

Serbin 11-07-2016 06:36 PM

Great buck but too many deductions

Great deer but he will have too many deductions on his time lengths from side to side which I feel is unfortunate.

Just know he came from just south of Des Moines. I have heard Madison or Lucas county.

Holy Smokes! Just imagine if he had 12" G5s! Seriously, that is by far the biggest typical I have ever seen a picture of. Waaay over 204.

LukeDuke 11-07-2016 06:54 PM

I have him grossing between 210-220 all day and twice on Sunday...

Serbin 11-07-2016 07:01 PM

He will gross big but just look

His right side is just a little dominate. Most deer have a dominate side. I can see 10 inches of deductions on time length alone. I wish gross scores giving the animal what it deserves being the final score. Imo

Ironman 11-07-2016 07:03 PM

Wow! Congrats to the young hunter!

I didn't know they used Double Down protein in Iowa.:D

mikemorvan 11-07-2016 07:05 PM

Awesome buck. So long old records. Hello updated record books. Hope the hunter is ready for it.

Silvey 11-07-2016 07:18 PM

Crazy!

Frederick D. Be 11-07-2016 07:34 PM

Goodness!...that will be really close...if not just a tad more. I think we are looking at the new record when and if all checks out. Beautiful whitetail!

BarW 11-07-2016 07:45 PM

hunter in the pic looks shell shocked.

TildenHunter 11-07-2016 08:14 PM

I'm thinking 220" gross and 208" net???? His mass has to be 48" or so. Simply unbelievable deer. Congrats to the hunter

Flecha-Rouge 11-07-2016 08:24 PM

He might as well just quit Deer hunting after that... Dang.

JMoore85 11-07-2016 08:27 PM

214 is my guess
