I'm going to hunt JD 1/9 through 1/12 for a trophy or management buck. If anyone has hunted JD, please tell what compartment you hunted in and what you saw and/or harvested. Thanks!

Compartmenst 9 & 10 last year we saw good bucks on youth hunt. Theyre on north side of lake. If there's been much rain, might be little hesitant though. Access can get bit hard in them, not really much for roads, more just mowed right of ways. -

I would bring a comfortable seat/chair. They have some blinds there but the seats are not the most comfortable. My preference would be to bring a pop blind or short portable tripod and hunt away from the permanent blinds. I have hunted Daughtery twice. Once with my boys on a doe/spike hunt and we hunted the hunt on the south side of the lake east of the state park. We saw lots of deer and hogs. The second time we hunted turkeys in unit 5. Very thick cover, but would have loved to hunt deer there.
Both times we hunted there they placed us in units close to where we were staying.Comment

I hunted that unit 2015. Kept seeing good bucks but had to kill a doe first as rule. Ended up taking a huge boar with my bow.Originally posted by OleTomTalker View PostComment
