TBOT is coming to Cowtown Bowmen in Fort Worth

1 Attachment(s)
The 12th annual Cowtown Winter Traditional will be a TBOT shoot this year!

February 24-25

We look forward to seeing a bunch of TBOT regulars who have not made it to Cowtown in years past. I also want to extend a special invitation to all TBH trad shooters. Even if you are new to the game you wont regret coming out to give it a try I promise you will have a great time and meet some TBHers you may only know through their posts and avatars.
Mark your calendars!

If so I'm there!!

RickBarbee 01-02-2018 11:37 AM

I want to try to be there this year.
Hope I can work it out.
We'll see. :)

You should twist Carl's arm to come along, and then swing through Abilene to pick me up. Y'all are in need of my company. :D

Those Ft. Worth boys really put on a nice shoot.

This is a really good shoot. I try to make it every year. Good course and well worth your time to come shoot it.

Featherflinger 01-03-2018 10:58 AM

Always a good time! I look forward to it!

PineyWoodsBow 01-05-2018 08:50 AM

Hoping to get this to work out, with several things going on. Cowtown has a good set-up and great folks.

Piney: Maybe take your bow, anyway. Depending how basketball games fall, may be able to fit in a round (couple of hours); you have basically all day Saturday to shoot, and can start up to about 10 or so Sunday.

I'll hopefully make this shoot again this year. It's always a great time and great course with great people!

So John, I have a question: since this is going to be a TBoT shoot, are the awards going to be like any other TBoT shoot, or is it still only one buckle per person???

The only thing I see on the flyer that is a bummer is that there will only be 30 targets instead of 40!

Awards will be by normal TBOT rules. To help with target depreciation we always charged $20 for a 40 target course. $10 for 30 targets is a better deal! Shoot more rounds!:D

So looking at the weather I’m coming up with a question. It’s looking to clear up around noon. Scorecards in by sundown Saturday. Does that mean you can just shoot your rounds later in the morning and afternoon? After the weather clears. Sorry, I’m still kind of new to this 3D thing.

Outdoor Man 02-22-2018 07:35 AM

Cowtown always shoots rain or shine! One of my best finishes was in the rain. I beat the other two guys by one point.:)

Scout trip rescheduled due to weather. I may consider coming out later in the day if that's possible.

Ken, yes you can shoot whenever on Sat, all the way up till dark! On Sunday, you have to start early enough to get your card turned in by 1:00.

Yeah, as of right now the rain is predicted to end around noon. Even after a lot of rain the course drains well but you might want to bring some rubber boots. It is going to be windy Saturday afternoon but once you get down in the woods on the course it is not much of an issue. I would try and get a Sunday round started no later than 10:00 or so.
Looking forward to seeing everybody!

76aggie 02-22-2018 11:28 AM

It would be nice to catch a good weekend for TBOT. Both Irving and Denton shoots were not exactly wonderful weather.

JEFFRO 02-22-2018 12:21 PM

shaping up to be a good weekend..

Geezy Rider 02-22-2018 07:27 PM

Working Saturday but I'll be making it there Sunday.

KenWood 02-22-2018 08:31 PM

Got room booked two nights. Be there rain or shine

Featherflinger 02-23-2018 07:26 AM

We shot it in the snow and ice a few years ago. I ain’t afraid of a little rain!

DRT 02-23-2018 08:16 AM

So to clarify; One can shoot Sunday as well or is that a different shoot?

Bisch 02-23-2018 08:30 AM

Gary, you can shoot Sat, Sun, or both!!!

Okay. I'm heading to the lease later in the morning. Have to be back tomorrow but not sure I will get back in time to shoot. Sunday I can and would sure like to lose some arrows. I've got so many I'm getting confused. [emoji2]

Have targets been put out?

DRT 02-23-2018 06:26 PM

Well the stars have aligned and I will get to shoot Saturday weather permitting. Of course that means I got suckered into working today and the quick lease trip is out. But hey I earned enough to pay for the shoot and loose a couple arrows while doing it. [emoji52]
