Kodi Add-ons in trouble

Kodi and specifically the add-ons we love have been getting a lot of negative attention lately. Add-ons seem to be bailing so they don't get caught up in the law suits. I have had a fit trying to stream lately on Exodus, Phoenix and Salts. It says stream unavailable on everything we try to watch. I know others have said their's works fine. Is this the beginning of the end for using Kodi in this way? Here are just a few of the many articles in recent days..

I've had the same experience and been meaning to post up on here about it. Many of mine say I have to log in to an additional server to watch. Not liking this one bit

cookemerkel 06-21-2017 02:49 PM

Mine bit the dust.

Etxbuckman 06-21-2017 02:54 PM

That sucks. It was inevitable though. I'm just glad I never bought one and messed with it.

Pineywoods 06-21-2017 02:57 PM

I thought it was just mine for a while. I updated to the 17.3 and it worked great for a few weeks until a week or so ago. Then I started reading about the shutdowns and potential legal issues for these providers. I already hated Dish Network and now they have to go and sue and scare off these add-on providers. You suck Dish!

Turtlewax 06-21-2017 02:59 PM

Im glad i bought mine. Even if it dies.....ive watched so much its paid for itself. Mine cost 2 months worth of cable. Ive had it for longer than that.

I mean come on.....where else can you watch a movie still in the theater and hear people talking and choking on popcorn....lol

I was looking at getting Sling TV but then I saw Dish owns them and was like "nope, nope, nope."

Yep we paid $75 for ours over a year ago and have gotten our money's worth to say the least. Guess Netflix and Hulu will have to cut it from now on. I knew when I bought it that it would just be a matter of time though.

flywise 06-21-2017 03:02 PM

I wonder why i have absolutely no idea what this thread is about.
I really need to catch up with modern society

Bruiser 06-21-2017 03:04 PM

Mine works fine.

You aren't alone.

Jtrage 06-21-2017 03:09 PM

I still have Specto working. Do you guys use real-debrid? It allows the addons to find more and more reliable links. It costs $10 for 90 days. Exodus is working for me too. All except the trakt integration. Specto has the integration working.

8mpg 06-21-2017 03:11 PM

Im using realdebrid and dont have any issues. It has been well worth the $3/mo

I have a friend from the NE that builds the dragon box and ships it to you. He preloads all the apps and add ons. It was a sweet deal for what i paid. I dont think hes doing it anymore.....which tells me its on the way out. I knew going in it would be a crap shoot. However it has lasted longer than i expected so im happy.

RedRaider323 06-21-2017 03:23 PM

Mine still working fine.

I dont have a specific link but Exodus isnt down. TVaddons is down. There are other repositories out there to download exodus. Just search youtube.

I just read this on another thread so I thought I would share it to help those of you having the same issues I'm having with exodus and others. I wonder how long before these other repositories shut down too?

texan4ut 06-21-2017 03:43 PM

I have mine set up but I haven't used it in a week or so I guess I better check and see if i am working LOL

doublearrow 06-21-2017 04:04 PM

Wife uses it occasionally. Said it was working well on the table, but the laptop. We download it to those two devices and didn't pay for the firesticks or boxes.

BURTONboy 06-21-2017 04:22 PM

I just ordered 2 firestick boxes with kodi and other add ons. I guess I might be sending them right back for a refund huh?

Napster revisited....

ghostgoblin22 06-21-2017 04:25 PM

mine is still working, I watched 3 movies the past 8 days...just turn it on and back off, it will keep working, don't mind the scare tactics

T_Sebastian 06-21-2017 04:25 PM

It seems to just be hit or miss on Exodus, and Specto. Some movies work, and others dont.

Burnadell 06-21-2017 05:23 PM

What in the hail are you talking about??? Code language!

Mudslinger 06-21-2017 05:34 PM

What in the Sam Hill are you people talking about?

Turtlewax 06-21-2017 05:35 PM

Exodus is playing the new Pirates of the Caribean for me

ghostgoblin22 06-28-2017 08:18 AM

The newer movies that are still in theater or recently released in theaters will have problems going forward, but anything coming out on redbox or DVD soon will work great from the research I've done about the kodi shut downs, live streams are still working for me also

Used it last night. Worked fine for me on our FireTV. Using Kodi 17.3 Krypton

Efren 06-28-2017 08:31 AM

Mines been working fine. I've had it over two months and it has completely payed for itself twice over.

10132297 06-28-2017 08:31 AM

Using 17.1 version of Kodi with exodus no problems.

In-Yo-Grill 06-28-2017 08:41 AM

I will say that I did not get Exodus installed on one FireTV stick because the repo wasn't working anymore. Need to research it and see if it's up again.

ghostgoblin22 06-28-2017 09:19 AM

Keep updating kodi, if you don't it will eventually shut down and stop working

I updated Kodi to 17.3 this past weekend and nothing is working. I get the OpenLoad Stream Authorization screen and I'm not about to pair it. I think Kodi is on its death bed.

Deers & Beers 07-05-2017 09:40 AM

Dang, I guess I'm glad I haven't updated Kodi yet.. I'm still at 17.0

ghostgoblin22 07-05-2017 10:51 AM

Last 5 movies I've watched have worked flawlessly, make sure if your watching movies in the exodus add-on that you select the new movies icon instead of the other choices

Is the answer Phil Mickelson?

StickSlinger 07-05-2017 01:31 PM

not sure why you all are paying for kodi you can download both it and the add ons for free. Since the scare you have to update e a couple add ons that's all I have done.

Anything prior to 17.3 is easily hacked. You should update!
