Question for knife builders and enthusiasts

I am interested in getting my 12yr old son a customized knife and giving it to him when he kills his first deer. I am probably only looking to spend $200 on it . I’d like to engrave something on the blade etc. as well . I’ve looked into it a little I see Buck offers something I may be interested in. What are my options. Is there some company or someone who can also do this. Thanks in advance

I was going to suggest Bucks custom shop. Buck is iconic in the hunting knife market and a good ol' 110 or 112 will serve him the rest of his life. I carry the 112 that my dad gave me when I was about your boy's age in my pack today. That was nearly 4 decades ago. Still a great knife with a lifetime warranty.

I like a good old Case knife. Hard to beat a classic like a yellow handle Trapper. You can have them engraved also.

This is one sexy option, in my opinion. I think it's $184.
