Massive Let down and Embarrassment!

It all started when I was driving through Port A yesterday with my wife and my daughter. As we were driving, I spotted a Tacoma in front of us with a TBH sticker in the back window. I pointed it out to my wife and told her I was going to shoot him the legendary “Air-Bow”. She laughed and said “what if he doesn’t know it?” I said “Of course he will! It’s like a secret handshake for all TBHers.”

This is where it all went wrong.

I pulled up next to him at the light, my heart starting pounding and I sent it! He looked at my like I was crazy. I thought, “ok maybe he didn’t see it”, so I decided to send it again!! This time he appeared to lock his doors and sped off lol.

My wife’s been making fun of me ever since and shooting the “air-bow” at me and laughing.

I think I may need someone to meet up with me at a light when I’m with my wife so that we can shoot our Air-bows at each other and I can get my dignity back.

Been there brutha....too funny.

OrangeBlood 09-22-2019 12:56 PM

he should be embarrassed, what self respecting TBH'er doesn't know the air bow!!!

Soclose 09-22-2019 12:58 PM

Hilarious

Hey John, thanks for letting me borrow your truck. Almost had an altercation with some guy that pulled up to me and started making some crazy gang sigh gestures. Thought I was going to have to pull my glock.:D

Haha... Makes me think twice about who I shoot my air-bow at.

dustoffer 09-22-2019 02:26 PM

Well . . . Was driving down the road and a white jeep pulled up along side and I looked over to wave at my buddy Greg---and HE SHOT ME! Then he sped off before I could shoot him in return!!!!

Now that's funny;)b

Someone needs to make an instructional video to show the proper way to execute an airbow. That way everyone knows and can respond accordingly. I sometimes worry that I will shoot a traditional airbow and the person I am shooting will only understand a compound airbow or a cross airbow. It can get confusing. :D

Colton 09-22-2019 03:25 PM

I see TBHrs all the time on 99 between Katy and Richmond and I don’t even bother anymore for this reason

Burnadell 09-22-2019 05:14 PM

That is funny, and I like your wife's sense of humor!

Exactly! We should have a mandatory requirement that to join TBH, one must send our mayor, Mary, a video demonstrating the applicant shooting the airbow! :D

It's easy to tell the difference. The trad airbow is only about 3 to 5 yards away. The compound airbow can be a couple lanes over and will spend more time aiming. The crossairbowyer will likely be heading in the opposite direction and can be confused with the pretend sniper.

Also, the trad airbowyer will be using an air three finger tab. The compound airbowyer will have a reverse hand anchor. Remember, proper technique is important for safe airbow use. Sloppy airbowing or improper technique will not be tolerated. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt...then it's hilarious.

stickerpatch59 09-22-2019 08:33 PM

peel your stickers off when you sell your vehicles. ;)

alec73065 09-22-2019 08:36 PM

I have had a few of the same experiences, but every time I think I will not airbow anyone again someone will pull up next to me and throw me one. Was on vacation a couple of years ago and was shot on the highway between Nashville and Knoxville.

Raypo 09-22-2019 08:39 PM

That is funny... I’m never brave enough

Big Red 82 09-22-2019 08:54 PM

Maybe someone on this thread should demonstrate it.

Chance Love 09-22-2019 08:56 PM

Good thing you didn't flash the old sign...that might be harder to explain to her.:)

Quackerbox 09-22-2019 08:58 PM

I air bowed a guy once. Perplexed by the notion he rolled down his window to speak. He was hammered drunk said he didnt bow hunt anymore and drove off

If someone would make a solid white TBH sticker I may be pressured into slapping one on my truck.

Lol. Good job OP and some of these responses are greatness

KactusKiller 09-22-2019 10:05 PM

I can’t bring myself to “air bow” anyone, just seems a little weird. I just give them a really big waive, they usually get the point.

That wouldn't be politically correct in this day and age. :D

80,000 members it's gonna happen.

I've noticed for someone who doesn't like sticker sighting threads you've commented on every single one since that post..

OP- Might have sold the truck to someone else unless I missed someone already identifying the vehicle. Saw someone today myself in a dodge on FM 1488 in the Woodlands.

Jerod 09-22-2019 10:39 PM

I have a confession.... when i was first told about this i thought my buddy was lying to me...I feel ashamed...

Stephenc 09-22-2019 10:52 PM

Glad to hear I’m not the only one getting denied. As long as there’s still a green screen..I’ll keep air-bowing.

It was a lot easier than the air bow.

Snowflake Killa 09-23-2019 07:08 AM

I have a question to ask the sticker gurus. Do you have to have a TBH sticker on your truck to shoot somebody ?

I would say it is not necessary to have a TBH sticker on your truck to airbow someone. It’s only necessary for the party you are airbowing to have a TBH sticker so you can identify them.

Your AirBow (whether compound, long, recurve or cross) serves are your identification.

Man 09-23-2019 12:43 PM

I got air bowed for the first time last month near the Buccees on Crabb River Road in Rosenberg. I knew what he was doing, but not everyone else at that light.

I've noticed I have a stalker :)

Kind of creepy you're quoting from a completely different thread. This one wasn't titled "sticker sighting" like the 100's of others. Most of them usually say something like "who you be?" "I was on road such and such and you passed me."

This thread is greatness.

It's all good. Just stay off my lawn stalker!

Not really, as someone who has a TBH sticker I frequent the sticker sighting or similar threads to see if I have been spotted and saw your response on that previous thread. A handful more AntlerCollector post on "Sticker Sticker sightings" or variation to them threads singing to a different tune led to a confusing observation.
