Hugest flag/flagpole in the world. Must see.

This thing is as tall as 1 1/3 football fields!!! Cool video and project.

You are welcome! ;)

Thanks for sharing Randy. Cool how the top section rotates to accommodate for wind direction maintaining a straight flag. Genius

Skinny 06-27-2018 01:03 PM

Now that is a big pole!

Awesome and a great little story as well.

meltingfeather 06-27-2018 01:28 PM

that's awesome... the description is so qualified that it has me wondering where in the world is a bigger free flying American flag, since this is just the largest one in N. America?

I assumed that some of the flags that are used at various ceremonies that are carried horizontally and are the size of football fields are larger, but they are not free flying.

BolilloLoco 06-27-2018 01:35 PM

Quite extreme engineering for a flag pole. I wonder how much it cost? I may have missed that if it was mentioned.

WItoTX 06-27-2018 02:11 PM

When you drive by, it, the flag actually looks small compared to the size of the flag pole. I can't get pictures to post or I would upload them.

Huntsman27 06-27-2018 02:42 PM

This is awesome. Tom Jordan of US Flag & Flag Pole was my neighbor in Beaumont, he has since relocated to Wimberly. Really a good guy with a cool story.

It just feels extremely WRONG for not having ever heard a single thing about this before you posted Randy. I don't even know what the heck to say other than that. :(

slicktricker 06-27-2018 03:29 PM

Awesome

Rubberdown 06-27-2018 03:29 PM

I want a 30 footer (above the ground so I guess thats a 35 footer?) for the house but gosh those prices make me wince. Props to them for spending some cash and making a statement.

rjtkdplus 06-27-2018 03:30 PM

I feel your pain. I shopped hard for a good tall pole. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on one.

44mAG 06-27-2018 03:56 PM

But why? Cause AMERICA, that's why! Pretty cool.

JoseyWales82 06-27-2018 04:01 PM

This is awesome. I watched the video, which was awesome too. Then google mapped it. I think it needs a normal "car lot" sized pole next to it for comparison.

TexasTealHunter 06-27-2018 04:18 PM

Very cool Jerry Jones is going to want to beat this if he catch wind of it.

dbpredator 06-27-2018 04:29 PM

Yep thats definitely cool!!

They have not and will not say.

I work for these fine folks....

this flag is a big part of their advertising, but more importantly, their corporate culture.

;)b

I dated the daughter of the guy who built the flag pole in this video way back in high school and college. While I dated her he built the two previous largest flag poles in the world in two neighboring countries somewhere in the Middle East, and made a truckload of money doing it. I would’ve never thought of flagpoles being a lucrative business, but I’d pretty much guarantee this thing was a multi-million dollar project.
