Yep, worked on my iPad. That was cool to see. What are your plans for it? Fishing? Ducks? Party cove at Lake Lewisville?

awesome build! as a former seadoo tech I can appreciate your skill and hard work putting this together. I have dreamt of it myself.
i would hook up some sort of trim to the nozzle that way you can angle the venturi down and get rid of any top end bounce....

paintman 06-20-2017 01:31 AM

A big rock in the front seems to work

Doug Roberts 06-20-2017 05:28 AM

That is super awesome,... but Im sure you already know that! ;)b

We have electronic trim tabs on the back end of some of the air boats that tend to porpoise at higher speeds. Obviously the big rock(weight distribution) is cheaper. Awesome skills.

bwssr 06-20-2017 07:08 AM

cool..but this being TBH and all...why did you only install 1 engine set up...I mean 1 is great but twins.is....

talleywack97 06-20-2017 07:15 AM

Thas kew

Wayno 06-20-2017 07:41 AM

It's cool, but the downside is that you don't have reverse.

Silvey 06-20-2017 07:52 AM

Way to see it through. Looks great!

bloodtrailer28 06-20-2017 08:22 AM

Thats awesome and should make one hell of a granger boat!

Love what you named her!!

muzzlebrake 06-20-2017 09:16 AM

I don't know if they make a thrust adjuster for that pump but if there is one available it would eliminate the porpoising. Trim tabs might work too. Add a nozzle restrictor for more speed if the HP is enough. Even that might gain enough speed to get above the porpoising stage.
Good job!

Hawkpuppy 1 06-20-2017 09:16 AM

Always wanted to build one of these jet-jons. Only thing I see that looks off is I would have mounted the intake grate area flush with the bottom of the boat instead of below it. All that fiberglass will be the first thing to hit the bottom if you do....

jctex81 06-20-2017 09:27 AM

Awesome! Great work!

lanceodom 06-20-2017 09:29 AM

Sweet! I don't know what the market would pay for this, but it's worth putting pencil to paper and considering.

Boys at tinboats said doing that would cause cavitation

Ride_Klein 06-20-2017 10:10 AM

Looks great. Have fun and hammer down

Hawkpuppy 1 06-20-2017 10:12 AM

Most I've seen are built that way for shallow water capability. Some even built into a shallow tunnel almost. Most seem to be running pods on the back as well. That might help with the cavitation issue....

offthemap 06-20-2017 10:14 AM

I want one of these soo bad..

Here's a thread I found last year from back in 2012 where someone cataloged their DIY jet-john build. You may find this interesting or helpful, I sure did.
