Exposure problmes (with the camera)

So I am having an exposure issue with my Canon Rebel Xti. I typically shoot in Program mode (P) rather than Auto or any of the others. When in P, everything is overexposed, badly. I switch it back to Auto and everything is fine. I checked everything out and can't figure out the problem. Any and all advice is welcome.

Do you have your exposure compensation setting at +1 (or some other exposure boosting value)? Sounds like maybe you do.

I forget to set my settings back to defaults all the time. If that's not it try to do an update and if that doesn't do it you may have to take/send it in.

If you are able to do a reset on your camera to take all of the settings back to zero I would give that a try.
