How is San Angelo looking for this year?

Wondering how the rainfall is in San Angelo this year? Will it be a good year maybe? Just wondering because I make a couple of trips to O.C. Fisher every year with a couple of buds. Thanks for any feedback.

When I was last there on Good Friday in April it was the dryest I'd ever seen it.

2 weeks ago i set up a new stand out there and the ground was wet with lots of puddles. Grasses green and growing and a matter of fact it started raining on us when we were leaving. We are on 765 about ten miles from eden.

          Hi,
I was up in Menard last weekend and they had about an inch of rain that week. The owner of the land has a place in San Angelo as well and said it had rained there as well.

Tom Green county got soaked big time last night. I live in Abilene, and we were hearing the severe weather alerts for san Angelo all last night.

It's probably grenner here than anywhere else I've been in the state the last few weeks. I've been from Austin, San Antonio, to Port Aransas area and hands down we are lookin' the best. Poor folks down in those areas havent seen much rain at all this year. It was the worst I'd ever seen it. Our group got 2 ELK this summer on public land while out fishin' True story I swear...cant tell where though. I promised not to tell

                    P.S.

My buddy will have plenty of those MLD tags again this coming year for anyone coming to our area to hunt TBR. My lease deal fell through this year and decided to just do TBR and then MLD for some meat in the freezer. As it turns out i'm gonna save alot of money that way anyhow, so....

I've been trying to find the rules/regulations for TBR, and can't seem to find them anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Is there public hunting in San Angelo that isn't the TPWD draw hunts? Wondering if I've missed something and thanks!

Its the same as the basic rules and regs of tpwd. The exception to some places would be the BAITING IS LEGAL and tons of guys place brush blinds and even wooden box blinds out there with gravity feeders of all types and styles, BUT technically permanent structures are not legal. The local game wardens do NOT enforce it as long as it is maintained and not surrounded by litter etc. I could point out some blinds and set-ups that have been there for several years. Remember anything you set-up out there is on public land though and may not be there when you return.

I use a pop-up blind or carry large pieces of camo to wrap around a couple trees when out on a stalk hunt and want to try a new area out.

whatever you choose to do please make sure you pack out your litter. That seems to be one of our biggest problems out there unfortunately, otherwise come out and enjoy the area. Tons of nice people.

Thanks for the info! I'm considering heading out there at some point later in the season, and just want to make sure I'm going by the book.
