Mary and I headed to Keith John's Outdoors this weekend for a hunt. I cannot say enough about what a great trip this was. When we arrived Friday, we met up with Keith and got a tour of the place. The accomodations were good and the hospitality was great! Keith is a great host! We met up with some fellow TBH'ers (John, Phil, and Angel) Friday evening. There were several hogs shot Friday evening. Saturday morning John shot a Texas Dall. The shot was good, but the ram would not go down. We were able to see Keith work his dog (Tank) to catch the ram. It was CRAZY! We ran all over the place with Keith finally catching the ram and ending the chase. It was very exciting! During the day Saturday, we helped Keith find an Axis that another client had shot and left. While looking for that Axis, Phil and Angel both were able to spot and stalk a couple of Corsican rams and make good shots. After cooling down at the camp, the guys decided that Mary needed to spot and stalk a ram. We all took off (while Keith took a nap) to find a ram for her. When Keith woke up he was joked that we should have woke him up so he could enjoy the fun too! She ended up shooting a Corsican. She hit it low. EVERYONE worked HARD to help her get her ram...with Angel and John both taking shots on it to help bring it down. The guys ended up tracking it to a creek bottom with John finishing it off for her. John shot a bobcat Saturday evening and Angel shot a pig. Another hunter from Oklahoma got a Cosican on Sunday morning. I ended up shooting a Corsican Sunday morning also. We saw SO many animals out there. We saw Buffalo, Axis, Blackbuck, Fallow, Sika, Aoudad, and assorted rams. We are already booked for our next trip in September. Enjoy the LDP's!
