    Rattlebugs

Are out. cooking some ribs on the fire pit at ranch this evening and 4 foot bug decided to come on in for a look. Got him out of the wood pile and that was the end. Usually walk in Crocks around the cabin, well will be wearing boots from now until we get some cooler weather. Be careful where you step.

Yep. Saw a hoss of a snake the other morning. Seems were not the only ones that take advantage of the cooler temps at dusk and dawn. Arrived at the lease at daylight and got off to open the gate. I just happened to look up just before pushing the gate open and saw one stretched out across the road. He was in the brush before I could get back to the truck and get my pistol, but he was by far the longest thickest one I've seen out there.

Seen one hit on the road the other day and stopped to take a look at it. It's stomach was popped open and baby snakes were squirming around on the road. That was the first time to see that for me.

Lots of snakes out lately though I'd have to agree with that.

I see them out sunning themselves in Runnels county in December when it's 45º and the sun comes out.

They are out year round in TX. Like mentioned above, if it warms up for a few days in January you can find them sunning. I have one that’s mounted that is close to 6’6” that I killed in December.

They can and will come out anytime it’s sunny, even in Winter.
