Bow stringer?

If it has a cup and a loop place the loop over the top limb, the cup over the bottom limb tip. Hold the GRIP of the bow with the string downward and the stringer hanging loosely. Step on the stinger with both feet at approximately shoulder width apart (depending on the type of stringer, you may be able to use just one foot). Draw bow with stringer till bow string hangs loose. Unnock the TOP loop of the bowstring and slide down bow limb. Slowly relax bow.
Hope this helps.

I highly recommend using a stringer on all trad bows. This will help minimize the risk of limb damage. I use them on my selfbows and laminated bows---recurves, longbows, flatbows--everything. Just be sure the stringer is in good shape and the pockets/cups that go over the limb tips are placed on the tips squarely and fit securely. Always apply tension to the bow gently and observe the bow to make sure the pockets are staying in place on the limb tips---I've had some want to slide off as some tips are shaped such that the pockets/cups don't fit as well as others. When stringing the bow, be sure to get the string loops seated well in the grooves before releasing the tension on the stringer---this will sometimes be hindered by the pockets/cups sliding too far down on the limb and partially obscuring the string grooves. And last but not least, keep your face WELL AWAY from the limb while stringing/unstringing the bow. I had a friend who got slapped just under the eye by a limbtip that slipped out of the stringer cup. It was REALLY ugly and he was lucky to not have lost his eye. And as Forrest Gump would say--that's about all i got to say about that!!
