    Great gift Idea

I bought this for myself over the summer and thought I would share with the GS family for a great gift idea.

I have a 2010 Tacoma and I do not have rear view camera. I pull my boat alot and my wife has NO idea how to back me up so I always just do it myself and inch it back and line it up in and out of the truck.

I didn't want to run the wires for a camera on the back so I did a little research and found this super cheap camera and it works very well.

You connect to the camera on your phone WIFI and use some kind of magnet to place on the rear of your truck bed. Once you back it up and hook up, throw in your glove box or center console till the next use.

Just remember there is about 1 second delay on the feed so move SLOWLY back, I almost hit my LP in the tongue of my trailer first time I did it.

FYI you don't actually need WIFI signal like from a home. Let me clarify. The camera gives out a signal that your phone reads as a WIFI and connects to the camera. You download a app and view the camera through the app.

So I really haven't tried to extend very far. I normally roll down my window and and hold the phone right in the window seal to give the best signal just to help it out. So I really can't say I've taken it more than 20 ft or so.

oh you will notice the battery says 10% and that is an error when they released the unit per the tech guy. I sent the first unit back and said it didn't charge. Second unit did the same. Just ignore the battery indicator.

So can you hook it up to your wifi at home and still monitor your home remotely?

Just seeing a multiple use option for cheap.

It says you can but I have no clue how well it will work. Could always give it a shot, amazon is awesome for taking returns if it sucks.

Let us know if you do. Right now I only use it for the review cam and it stays in my center console.
