Can anyone ID this bird? It looks like a short tail pheasant but I’ve never seen anything like this in Leon county.

Escaped pheasant from somewhere. They any body do caged bird hunts around you. Or it’s a fancy chicken from up north.

Yeah, the feathers cost about $10-$12 each at hobby lobby and they are cheap

Yes, they will grow back. If the stump of the feathers didn’t come out then they won’t regrow until the next molt cycle
