    Shipping a Firearm(rifle) question

I’m needing to ship a rifle to Yoakum from Granbury area. Do I just go to the local fedex and ship it. Any suggestions from people that have done this.

Done it a few times. No problems at all. I've put them in plain boxes that don't shout GUN! not to hide what I'm sending from the carriers just in case who ever is receiving it isn't home at the time and it is on the porch.

USPS is the only "legal" way. Very easy. Sometimes its helpful to print out the USPS policy saying they will ship rifles. The people at the counter don't always know

Assuming you are not an FFL.

I always take mine apart, wrap the stock and action separately. It fits in a smaller box and doesn't appear to be a rifle.

FedEx and UPS will ship handguns if you choose priority overnight and ship TO FFL. UPS will take long guns shipped TO ffl via ground. OP des not need FFL to drop it in the mail

FedEx Express: FedEx will only ship firearms via their Priority Overnight service. Ammunition must be shipped as hazardous goods via Ground in compliance with ORM-D. UPS: UPS will accept handgun shipments by Next Day Air only. Rifles and shotguns can be shipped by UPS ground service.Dec 6, 2017

Firearms (including handguns) may be shipped only through a UPS Scheduled Pickup Account (specifically, Daily Pickup, Daily On-Route Pickup, UPS Smart Pickup®, and Day-Specific Pickup), or through a UPS Customer Center (counters at UPS operational facilities). Note: Firearms (including handguns) are not accepted for shipment via UPS Drop Boxes or UPS On-Call Pickup®, and may not be tendered to or dropped off at locations of The UPS Store®, any third party retailer, or any UPS Access Point™ location.

When you are shipping a package that contains a handgun, you must verbally notify the UPS driver or UPS Customer Center clerk.

See the UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service - United States and the UPS Rate and Service Guide in effect at the time of shipping ("UPS Terms") for information regarding firearm and ammunition shipments.

Recently had a couple of guns come to me via post office, only issue has been the people behind the counter but it was mainly because the box looked rifleish and they insisted on putting they’re two cents in.

I misspoke, you are correct. If it's going to a FFL.
