    22 mag subsonic?

Anybody shoot Winchester 45 gr subsonic ammo? Never seen subsonic 22 mag before. 1060 fps

I don’t see the point, why not 22 subs.

Might as well run a 22lr subsonic at that point. Unless you gaining some weight but arent most 22 lr subs running 45 gr as well?

I have not but agree with the above statements.
Really no point of a mag once you knock the velocity down.

Didn’t know they even made subs for a mag

Most subsonic .22LR ammo is 29 grain to 40 grain.

If you only had a .22 Mag rifle, there are times when a series sonic round would be very beneficial. Like taking out tree rats, possums, coons, or ferel cats in the city limits.

The only advantage I can see in looking for 22mag subsonic is a better bullet. 22 mags have better bullet designs compared to lead round nose or hollow point 22lr. Otherwise just shoot normal 22 subs.

I looked into this a while back, but haven’t tried them. I have a 22 mag revolver that I would like some more quiet rounds for dispatching coons and such while trapping. I ran across a deal and got a mag instead of a LR. I still intend on trying them.

Yeah, but they need to be better because they go 100% faster at 2000fps amigo...what good is a jacketed hollow point at half that?? A soft lead hp like the 29gr Winchester CB long match & even the solid match like Eley Tenex are going to perform better I would think??

The one advantage I really see is the 10% weight advantage but I'll be honest & say I haven't looked to see the make up of the OP's 45gr 22wmr.

I'll bet a dollar to donuts they have a really accuracy problem vs 22lr
