Not sure how long it will run but I have the Echo trimmer, blower and chain saw. 56V batter power. On my residential yard the trimmer will do the whole yard and maybe use 1/2 the battery. The blower uses s little more battery than the trimmer. The chain saw kicks butt at the deer lease trimming back roads and cutting up firewood. Probably lasts an hour or so before changing or charging the battery. No ear plugs, problems with carburetors, or cords. I highly recommend the battery tools.

For the 56 volt trimmer the battery takes about an hour to charge. You would only need one back up battery if you switch them out. Even if the second one dies before the first one finishes recharging, it is probably time for a cold beer anyway. I can weed eat my yard and blow the sidewalks and driveway with one battery and still have some battery life left. I have had my trimmer for three years without any problems.

I have the 18v Ryobi. It works just fine on grass.

Been using the black and decker for the last couple years. They aren’t the best, but they’re pretty cheap and they work.
