    Best BBQ /Pit Smoker

OK .. My Better Half has given me the Green Light to get a BBQ Pit Smoker.

So many commercial choices .. What do you use..

Here is what I'm looking for:

    1. Off-Set fire Box that is thicker than the 1/8" stuff I see at the retail stores .. They always rust out !

    2. Uses Charcoal or Wood

    3. Not Overly Big .. Actually small in size

    4. Trying to keep the price in the $ 300 - 400 Range

At that price range, the only thing halfway decent is going to be used quite a bit. For $300, you can't even buy the materials to make a quality pit, unless you get some of it for free.

I would deff look for used on here, what are you trying to cook also? I understand small but the smaller the pit will require more attention to the fire and temps will fluctuate a lot more.

Weber Smokey Mountain. Actually makes great BBQ, and is super easy to cook with. I can maintain temp for about 12 hours very easily withe one full load of charcoal. No need to stay up all night tending a fire. It is relatively light and portable. Sine it is vertical it takes up very little real estate.

Yep. Those stick burners need constant tending to.
